Server Hardware

Where there are available resources, MobileAccess Server components may be installed directly on the Dynamics CRM server. At a minimum, the following specifications should apply for an integrated configuration:

• 2 GB RAM or greater
• 1 GB available hard drive space
• 2 GHz or greater Pentium or compatible CPU

For larger deployments of hundreds or thousands active users, it is recommended to install MobileAccess on separate servers in a distributed configuration and with increased hardware capacity and performance.

Server Software

All infrastructure components as required by Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 / 4.0, including:

• Windows 2003 Server SP1 / Windows 2008 (32bit or 64bit) operating systems running the following applications:
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 / 4.0
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008
• IIS 6.0 / IIS 7.0
• .NET 3.5 SP1

BlackBerry Smartphones

All infrastructure components as required by Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 / 4.0, including:

• BlackBerry Handheld Software 4.x and 5.x (Supported Devices)
• +64 MB Memory Recommended
• 5 MB Minimum Available Memory (actual amount depends on enabled CRM content)

Windows Mobile Devices

All infrastructure components as required by Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 / 4.0, including:

• Windows Mobile 6, 6.1, and 6.5 operating system (Supported Devices)
• +64 MB Memory Recommended
• 10 MB Minimum Available Memory (actual amount depends on enabled CRM content)

Other Requirements

• All participating server(s) up-to-date with the latest Microsoft Windows, SQL and Dynamics CRM Updates and Service Packs
• All participating server(s) able to access the internet with DNS registration
• Full administrative rights for performing software installations and creating databases on target systems
• In some deployment scenarios a firewall port must be opened to allow secure communication between the devices and the server
