How it Works

MobileAccess Server software is deployed in the customer’s CRM environment. This software enables the creation of a role-tailored CRM user interface, one that reflects an organization’s unique CRM configuration by reading native CRM forms and automatically creating corresponding ‘mobile optimized’ forms and data.

The MobileAccess smartclient framework that is installed for each licensed smartphone leverages the device capabilities and navigation nuances of each smartphone operating system. The one-time framework installation can be delivered to smartphones in several ways, including over-the-air software distribution. Each user’s role-tailored CRM experience and relevant always-available data†, also referred to as local data, can be delivered wirelessly into this smartclient. Users can access and update CRM records online when they have a wireless signal–more importantly, they can also create new records and instantly access and update their local data, whether or not they have a stable wireless signal.

System management is accomplished through the web-based MobileAccess Administration Console, conveniently available within Dynamics CRM Settings. This console facilitates the management of users’ mobile devices, customizations and system configuration. As new CRM configuration changes are published, the new mobile user experience can be initialized from the console to the smartclient framework as frequently as desired, without effort from the end user.

Network communications between MobileAccess server and smartclients are via secure, bi-directional 'push' connections. All requirements for secure VPN communication and authentication are setup in advance, during user and device enrollment, so smartphones are always ready for real-time events - this approach also saves the user from needing to log-in before using CRM.

In concert with Dynamics CRM, the MobileAccess server, smartclient, management console and wireless network all work to provide the best mobile CRM experience on today’s leading enterprise smartphones.
